About Celia

I am a counselor, mother of two, blogger, and podcast host. I  use my professional skills and experience along with humor and empathy as a way to help the people I work with. I typically work with parents and families who may be struggling to move their lives forward in a positive, goal-oriented way. Making positive changes is not easy, and often we get 'stuck' and aren't sure how to change the status quo or move through crisis.

We've all been stuck and overwhelmed by life's circumstances before. We've taken paths that turned out to be wrong and had to change directions. We thought we were going to have 'the perfect life' only to realize there is no such thing as perfect. We are all works in progress and change is always scary. Yet with change, our lives can become exponentially more exciting, fulfilling and healthy.

If you're looking to change any aspect of your life, gain insight into family dynamics, relationships or goals, I'd love to work with you to start you on that path. Today.

Why Coaching?

Let me get this out of the way off the bat- I HATE the term 'life-coach'. It sounds patronizing and cliche, and has a stigma attached to it because anyone can 'anoint' themselves as a so-called 'life-coach' without any relevant training or experience.  Plus, the term itself just sounds like my goal is to train you for the 'hunger games' in a 'win-or-die' sort of way.  So why am I one? Ultimately, rather than forcing me to compartmentalize my credentials and passion for helping and motivating people, the title best incorporates the totality of my skills.

My credentials:

  • Masters Degree in Counseling
  • 12 years experience in vocational and psycho-educational counseling
  • 8 years experience in licensed mental health counseling
  • Certificates in Child Abuse and Neglect, Violence Prevention, ABA Therapy, Co-Occurring Mental Health & Substance Abuse Disorders, and Ethics in Counseling
